Four NAIA Institutions Announce Closures
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Over the last few months, four NAIA institutions have announced closures of their undergraduate operations or elimination of athletics at the end of the Spring 2023 term. More detail about each institution and its athletic programs can be found at the links below.
Each institution has issued an unconditional release for its student-athletes, meaning the institutions have waived the typical restriction that would prohibit other NAIA coaches from contacting their student-athletes. NAIA member institutions are free to initiate contact with student-athletes from any of the four institutions and conduct tryouts. Student-athletes from any of these institutions will be able to transfer to another NAIA institution and compete immediately. Student-athletes from any of these institutions who may wish to transfer to a non-NAIA institution would be subject to the recruiting/transfer rules of whatever athletic association the prospective institution belongs to.
