Malcom Elmore, Central Methodist (Mo.) stand out to New York Giants

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Malcom Elmore has been working his entire life to become a professional athlete.

Raised in small town Missouri, Elmore excelled in athletics at Lafayette County High School lettering all four years in three different sports. The small town star pursued his dream of playing football accepting a scholarship to Central Methodist (Mo.). After four years as an Eagle his hard work is paid off.

Malcolm Elmore was picked up as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants in the spring of 2020.

"I can't say that this isn't a dream come true because this is what I've been working for my entire life," shared Elmore. "It’s something that I always knew could happen but never has happened where I'm from. I'm still in shock from it!"

Elmore spent four seasons as an Eagle in Fayette, Missouri. During his time at Central Methodist he collected 133 tackles, 15 breakups, and eight interceptions for 223 yards throughout his career. His senior season, he recorded 58 tackles, including two for loss, and a team-high four interceptions during his senior campaign. Those interceptions were returned for a total of 144 yards on the season.

He was also nationally ranked in both interceptions per game and total interceptions in the 2019 season and was recognized as a second team all-conference selection.

In an interview Elmore expresses his compassion and thankfulness for everyone who has helped him up to this point, but gives special recognition to Central Methodist assistant coach, LaQuentin Black.

“He really taught me everything I know and without him there is no way I would be in the position I am in today,” Elmore mentioned.

"We're super proud of Malcolm and everything that he represents. He is the true definition of what Eagle football is all about," stated defensive backs coach LaQuentin Black. "He trusted the process and loved the grind, and we are super ecstatic for him and his family. He deserves it all!"

Head coach David Calloway echoed Coach Black's sentiment while adding, "We are so happy for him. He absolutely deserves this."
