2023 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Athletes of the week are evaluated on their performance during the week prior to the announcement. Each player is selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country.

Week 6 (February 15, 2023)

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Hannah Antkoviak, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)

    Antkoviak had an incredible weekend on the track, clearing the NAIA "A" standard in three of her four events. She set school records in the 60-meter hurdles (8.76) and the 400-meter dash (55.51) and was the third leg of the 4x400 relay team that notched the fastest time in the NAIA at 3:48.79. Antkoviak is currently ranked 4th in the 400, 12th in the 60-meter hurdles, and 23rd in the 200.

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Jennah Carpenter, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho)

Carpenter had a busy weekend at the Whitworth Invite with multiple national-qualifying standards. The highlight of the meet for the Lewiston native came with a record-breaking leap in the high jump (1.70m). The sophomore ranks second in the NAIA in the event and finished with a 3,340 total in the first pentathlon of her career. She placed second at the meet and ranks eighth in the NAIA. Carpenter also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay team that hit the "B" standard with a time of 3:57.51, which ranks 13th in the NAIA this season.

Week 5 (February 8, 2023)

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Addy Wiley, Huntington (Ind.)

    Wiley competed at the Camel City Invite and became the first collegiate athlete to win the women's mile, topping a field of NCAA Division I and professional athletes. Wiley crossed in 4:32.15 to beat the NAIA record by five seconds.

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Kiara Anderson, Hastings (Neb.)

Anderson finished 2nd in the women's weight (She was the top NAIA finisher ) with an "A" standard throw of 17.82m (58' 5.75"). She is currently ranked No. 1 in the GPAC and No. 1 in the NAIA in the weight. She defeated the No. 2 ranked NAIA women's weight thrower head-to-head by over 1 meter.

Week 4 (February 1, 2023)

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Eryn Burke, Vanguard (Calif.)

    A superb start to the season, Burke hit the A-standard mark as an individual with the 400m, which upon writing, is the fastest time in the NAIA (55.57 was listed at the top). She also set a school record in the process. She then hit the A mark as part of the 4x400m relay team, which also set a school record and would slide into fourth as of writing on the NAIA chart. She then also won the 200m race, just missing the B-standard by .07

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Juanita Webster-Freeman, Indiana Tech

Webster-Freeman set the Indiana Tech school record in Pentathlon, posting the best mark in the NAIA this season by almost 500 points. She was the top college finisher at the Illini Challenge, losing only to an unattached pro. She topped competitors from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois, among others.

Week 3 (January 25, 2023)

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Addy Wiley, Huntington (Ind.)

    Wiley set the NAIA record in the 600-meters and posted the fastest times in the NAIA this season in the 600, 800, and 1,000 meters for Huntington at Indiana Tech. Wiley automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals in all three races.

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Destiny Copeland, Huntington (Ind.)

Copeland had another strong showing, this time winning the long jump and triple jump for Huntington at the Indiana Tech Warrior Invite. Copeland hit the NAIA A-standard in each event, posting marks of 5.87 meters and 11.49 meters.

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Lisa Voyles, Indiana Tech

    Won the 1K at the NCAA D1 event and finished 3rd in the mile while breaking the school record by 4 seconds. The previous record was set in 2008

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Kiara Anderson, Hastings (Neb.)

Anderson won both of her field events on Saturday at the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic. She won the Shot Put with an 'A' Standard throw of 13.90m and backed that up by winning the weight throw with an 'A' Standard throw of 17.98m. She currently is No. 1 in the GPAC and the NAIA in the weight throw.

Week 1 (January 11, 2023)

Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Nisa Thomas, Hastings (Neb.)

   Nisa won both of her events Saturday at Doane's Ward Haylett Invite. She began by winning the 60m hurdles in an "A" standard automatic national qualifying time of 8.95 seconds. She went on to win the 200m dash in a time of 26.16 seconds. Nisa currently leads the GPAC in both events and ranks #10 in the NAIA in the 60m hurdles

Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Kiara Anderson, Hastings (Neb.)

   Kiara won the women's weight throw Saturday at Doane's Ward Haylett Invite with an "A" standard throw of 16.95m (55' 7.5"). Kiara currently leads the NAIA in the weight. She went on to finish 3rd place in the women's shot put.
