2021-22 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll – Week Nine (November 3, 2021)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As the season wraps, several teams made statements heading into conference tournaments as the ninth Top 25 of the season was announced. William Carey (Miss.) and Keiser (Fla.) both stayed in the top two positions while Spring Arbor (Mich.) slid up one spot to No. 3. Tennessee Southern and Central Methodist (Mo.) rounded-out the top five this week. Cumberland (Tenn.) played a role in the re-positioning at the top after securing a 2-1 upset over Tennessee Southern last week. The win helped the Phoenix to make the biggest jump of the week, up three spots to No. 16. Oregon Tech also made a three spot jump up to No. 18.
Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) and Unaffiliated Groups.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes.”
