2021-22 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll – Week Two (September 15, 2021)

Women's Soccer - William Carey University

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Behind a 2-0 shutout of defending NAIA Women’s Soccer National Champion Keiser (Fla.), William Carey (Miss.) moved into the top spot of the latest Top 25. The Crusaders garnered all 18, first-place votes and knocked the Seahawks off their perch to No. 2. Tennessee Southern remained undefeated after a win in its lone match last week and stayed put at No. 3. Spring Arbor (Mich.), Southeastern (Fla.), Cumberlands (Ky.), Marian (Ind.), Central Methodist (Mo.) and John Brown (Ark.) also stayed in the same spots last week at Nos. 2-9 respectively. No. 11 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) made the most positive movement of the week with a four-slot jump after a victory over No. 9 John Brown (Ark.).

Poll Methodology

  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes.”
