2023-24 NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Top 25 Rating - No. 3 (December 13)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dordt (Iowa) landed at No. 1 with 17 of the 21 first-place votes in the latest edition of the 2023-24 NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Rating. The Defenders are among five teams in the Top 25 with undefeated records. The first three teams in the ranking shuffled ranks and in that mix was Indiana Wesleyan, who moved up to No. 2 after the Wildcats captured a win over previously ranked No. 1 Campbellsville (Ky.). College of the Ozarks (Mo.) and Indiana Tech entered the Top 25 this week.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated groups.
- The Coaches' Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
