2024 NAIA Softball Players of the Week - No. 8 (April 16)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophie Williams of Science and Arts (Okla.) has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week and Breanna Bumgardner of Bryan (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from April 8-14 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and Twitter.

NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Sophie Williams, Science and Arts (Okla.) - JR - RPH
- Williams posted a huge week in the circle for the Drovers, tossing nine complete shutout frames between a pair of games.
- Struck out a total of 22 batters for an average of 17.11 strikeouts per seven innings last week.
- Allowing just two hits in the doubleheader, Williams tossed a perfect game-two.
NAIA Softball Player of the Week
Breanna Bumgardner, Bryan (Tenn.) - JR - INF
- Bumgardner had a solid week at the plate in two games for the Lions.
- Going 7-for-8 at the plate, she notched four home runs, a double, and seven RBI with 20 total bases.
- Collected a .875 bating average, .889 OBP, and a 2.500 slugging percentage.
