2023-24 NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 - FINAL (May 1)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) retained its hold on the top spot in the final NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Ratings of the 2024 season, after securing all 19 first-place votes with a near perfect 43-1 record. The top nine teams in the final rating held strong from the previous release; Madonna (Mich.) jumped up five spots to No. 11 while Southeastern (Fla.) joined the rankings at No. 25 heading into postseason play.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents).
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place, and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
