2019 NAIA Softball Players of the Week - No. 7

KANSAS CITY, MO. – Sabrina Gilliam of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA National Softball Player of the Week and Olivia Brees of Baker (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Softball Pitcher of the Week, the National office announced Tuesday.

Softball Player of the Week 
Sabrina Gilliam, Martin Methodist (Tenn.)
5-11, JR, IF, Columbia, Tenn.  

  • Gilliam helped her team to a 4-0, collecting 12 hits on week
  • Weekly Stats
    • Batted 0.750, earning 12 hits – 6 of which went for extra bases
    • Had slugging percentage of 1.250
    • Gilliam had 12 hits on 16 at-bats and 10 RBI

Softball Pitcher of the Week 
Olivia Brees, Baker (Kan.)
6-4, SR, P, Meriden, KS

  • Brees tied the program record for wins in a single season, earning her 29th win on the mound this week   
  • Weekly Stats
    • She pitched 20 innings and struck 49 batters
    • Brees only gave up nine hits and four earned runs.
    • Helped the Wildcats earn their first conference championship in 37 years
