KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City is the unanimous No. 1 selection in the fourth regular-season edition of the 2015 NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. For four-straight rankings, the Stars have locked down the top position. This week, Oklahoma City collected all 21 first-place votes and 591 total points. Since a loss to then-No. 17 Houston-Victoria (Texas) on March 19, Oklahoma City has out-scored opponents by a 79-16 count during a current seven-game winning streak. They will next face Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday in Bartlesville, Okla.

Both No. 2 Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) and No. 3 Concordia (Calif.) both held their spot from last week. No. 4 LSU Alexandria (La.) and No. 5 Saint Xavier (Ill.) switched positions.

No. 14 USC Beaufort (S.C.) holds the best improvement from last week with an eight-spot jump. The Sand Sharks are riding a 12-game winning streak after a sweep over then-No. 8 Thomas (Ga.) on April 3.

Thomas dipped down to No. 17 for the worst fall within the poll.

There are no newcomers this week.

The Southern States Athletic Conference claims the most ranked teams with four: Auburn Montgomery, No. 7 William Carey (Miss.), No. 15 Mobile (Ala.) and No. 25 Belhaven (Miss.). The Sooner Athletic Conference, the Unaffiliated Group No. 1 (California Pacific/Golden State Athletic) and Unaffiliated Group No. 2 (Cascade Collegiate/Frontier) all landed a trio of programs in the Top 25. Overall, 12 of 21 conferences are represented this week.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences /independent /unaffiliated groupings. The fifth regular-season Top 25 will be announced on April 14.
