SHAWNEE, Okla. – St. Gregory's (Okla.) exploded for 19 runs on 24 hits in sweeping Sunday's Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader between two top 20 teams. The No. 20-ranked Cavaliers won the opener, 9-0, before rallying to take the nightcap, 10-6, from No. 7-ranked Rogers State (Okla.).

SGU won the regular season series, 3-1, over the Hillcats and now have four victories over top 25 foes. After dropping their first four conference games, the Cavaliers have won seven of their last eight and - by percentage points - moved ahead of RSU into third place among SAC teams.

The first five hitters in SGU's lineup did most of the damage Sunday, going a combined 18-for-26 with 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. Leading the way was junior first baseman Caitlin O'Hagan, who was 5-for-6 with a double and five runs batted in between the two games. She finished the series 8-for-12.

After dropping the opener Thursday in Claremore, Okla., Cavalier pitcher Devon Frazier (pictured top left - courtesy of Brother George Hubl, OSB) bounced back to pick up both victories Sunday. Frazier, a junior from Little Axe, Okla., went all five innings in Game 1, giving up one hit while striking out six. She came on in relief in Game 2, allowing only one base runner in the final 3-2/3 innings.

SGU broke a scoreless tie in the opener in a big way, sending 13 hitters to the plate in a nine-run, nine-hit fourth inning. O'Hagan had a run-scoring single and a two-RBI double in the frame. Otelia Ramirez, Allison Conyers, Melanie Gladden, Danielle Bacon and Whitney Anderson all had RBI singles in the inning. The Cavs scored seven of their nine runs with two outs.

Frazier retired the Hillcats in order in the seventh to complete the run-rule victory.

The home team carried its momentum into Game 2, scoring four in the first off RSU starter Laura Fleck (24-8). O'Hagan and Ramirez both had run-scoring singles in the inning.

The Hillcats responded, though, scoring one in the second and three in the third to tie it at four. Ashlie Fauchier's double down the left-field line in the fourth gave RSU its first lead of the day, and Shelby Brogdon made it 6-4 with an RBI bunt single.

Frazier (14-3) settled things down for the Cavs, coming in to retire the final two Hillcats of the inning. In all, she set down 11 of the 12 batters she faced with the only blemish coming on a bunt single.

SGU rallied to knot it up in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles from Bacon and Anderson, and two innings later, went up for good on run-scoring hits from Gladden, O'Hagan and Tara Nall.

The Cavaliers (26-7, 7-5 SAC) return to action Friday at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. That doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Chickasha, Okla.
