1. What is one thing you didn't know as a freshman coming into college that you wish someone would have told you?
I wish someone had told me to tuck my shoestrings into my cleats...so I didn't trip:)

2. What do you like most about competing in college sports?
I love the team unity and common goal we have of not only competing to win, but competing in a way that honors Christ.

3. What do you like in your teammates?
I love that my teammates get along well and are friends on and off the field.

4. What do you like most about your college team?
I like our team's focus on serving others and glorifying God in all we do.

5. Do you have a mentor? If so, who and what is the best piece of advice he/she has ever given you?
"Self-worth is found in God and who He says we are. Nothing else."

6. What is a unique strength you bring to your team?
Positive attitude.

7. What is one thing you do in practice that helps you reach your goals?
We use wooden bats to make our hands quicker and swing stronger.

8. How do you get focused / pumped before a big game/meet?
I goof around and just stay relaxed with teammates.

9. What are your plans after graduation? Do you feel that being a student-athlete has helped guide you in that direction?
I will be teaching elementary in the Mississippi Delta with Teach for America. Being a student-athlete has helped me with leadership skills, organization, responsibility and countless other life skills that have helped me secure and prepare for this job.

10. What has been the greatest moment in your college sports career?
Hitting in the game-winning run against St. Xavier (Ill.).

11. Talk a little about your character. What skill sets have you learned by competing in college sports?
I have learned the importance of meeting the needs of my teammates and others around me before worrying about my own. I have grown in my understanding of integrity and how to be an example of Christ.

12. How will that help you later in your future career or in a leadership role?
I have no doubt that the skills I have developed as an athlete will help me in my career. As a teacher, I will need to lead my students and help them understand how to work together to grow and learn, much like a team does!
