Lee Sets School Record 43rd Season Win

The Lee University (Tenn.) Lady Flames set a new single-season mark with their 43rd softball victory of the season by defeating host Reinhardt College (Ga.) 11-0 onĀ April 23.
Lee improved to 43-9 overall and 27-4 in the Southern States Athletic Conference final standings. Champions of the SSAC regular season, the Lady Flames surpassed the 42-19 record set by the Lee softball team in 1996. It also knocked Reinhardt out of second place in the Southern States Athletic Conference regular-season race. It also improved coach Emily Russell's four-year record at Lee to 154-67.
The five-innings win was highlighted by the hitting of Maranda Mounce and Bobbi Easler. Mounce was 3-for-3 including a triple. She scored three runs, added an RBI and stole a couple of bases. Easler ripped a pair of doubles and a single. She finished the afternoon with six RBI. Emily Broyles followed with two hits and one run batted in.
Kelly Golden chipped in with a double and an RBI, while Jill Webb pushed two Lee runners across home plate with one hit. Lauren Hilliard and Danielle Everett collected the Lady Flames' other hits. Everett also scored a run.
Charli Duff picked up her 21st pitching decision of the season. She has suffered only three defeats. The senior allowed just one hit in four innings. She struck out one and walked two. Alyssa Ashley hurled the final inning for the Lady Flames and allowed one hit.
