Week 11 (November 8, 2022)

Offensive Player of the Week: Fabio Bender, Columbia International (S.C.)

 

Bender was masterful in the Rams' quarterfinal win over St. Andrews, contributing to every score with two goals and an assist. Bender's second goal was a flying header that would turn into the game-winner. Bender added to his week with two goals in the Rams' regular season-finale versus Bluefield.

Defensive Player of the Week: Edan Sears, William Penn (Iowa)

 

 Not only did Sears lead the Statesmen defense to a shutout over the #2 seed Missouri Valley in the Heart Quarterfinals, he also scored the game-winning goal. MVC was limited to only two shots in the game.

Week 10 (November 1, 2022)

Offensive Player of the Week: Connor Parry, Thomas (Ga.)

 

Sophomore Connor Parry has played a huge part in the Night Hawks success lately. The Caerphilly Wales native has scored a total of five goals in his last three games. Three of those goals came from Saturday's big win against RV Southeastern University as the Defender notched his first collegiate hat trick, including a season and career-high in goals scored. His hat trick also helped the Green and White secure their spot to host the Quarterfinal round of the SUN Conference Championship this weekend. Additionally, Connor also scored a goal against #5 Georgia Gwinnett last weekend which resulted in a tie.

Defensive Player of the Week: Franco Acerbi, St. Thomas (Fla.)

 

 

Franco Acerbi continues to show his dominance in the Sun Conference with a big shutout of no. 4 Keiser on Saturday afternoon. This is Acerbi's eighth shutout performance of the season as he moves to 9-0-3 on the year. This is the third straight matchup that Acerbi has left the Seahawks scoreless. The Bobcats gave the defending national champions their first lost of the season. This was a season-high six saves for the Bobcat keeper. This is also the fourth straight shutout as STU completes conference play unblemished for the second straight season.

In the Game against No.13 UNOH, Madonna was a man down for about 65 minutes due to a red card in the first half. Ouendeno still came away with a shutout and a career-high in saves that game.

Janvier's game-winner and hat trick came off a 50-yard kickoff after Midway's tying goal Saturday. He leads the RSC with 14 goals on the year so far. He scored both of Carlow's goals in a tie at St. Vincent College Oct. 3.

Offensive Player of the Week: Slobodan Novicevic, Ottawa (Kan.)

 

Novicevic scored four goals and had one assist in games against Tabor and Avila. Novicevic scored the game-winning goal on a 84th minute penalty kick in the Braves' 3-2 win over Tabor at home. He followed with his first career hat-trick, scoring three goals in a 4-1 road win at Avila. Novicevic now ranks second in the KCAC with 10 goals so far this season.

Matteo Conci helped Grace best No. 3 Columbia 1-0 with an eight save shutout on Saturday. Conci's flawless day included a trio of diving saves in the second half to preserve the Lancers upset win.

   Kevin was outstanding this week, starting the week by scoring two goals and adding two assists against Rochester and ending the week with a hat trick against Siena Heights, while adding two more assists. For the week, he had five goals, four assists for 14 points.

Matteo Conci made 11 saves in a pair of games against top 16 opponents. Conci made five saves in a win over No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan, and five days later, he picked up his third clean sheet of the season with a six save performance against No. 16 UNOH.

Offensive Player of the Week: Stephen Appiah, Cumberlands (Ky.)

   

Stephen Appiah tallied two braces and an assist in the team's wins over West Virginia Tech and #13 Rio Grande. Appiah's efficiency in front of goal was on display with him recording eight shots, with seven of them on goal. The five points he had against Rio Grande were the most in a single game for the sophomore and the most single game points for any Patriot since 2020.
