Sibbald Selected as 2024 Nfinity NAIA Competitive Dance Coach of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Erin Sibbald of Midland (Neb.) as the 2024 Nfinity NAIA Competitive Dance Coach of the Year. Over the past two seasons, she has guided the Warriors to the NAIA National Championship Runners-Up including setting the program's highest score in the postseason event this year. 

Midland has qualified all eight years of the events existence and have claimed two Red Banners, twice finished second and twice finished in third place, along with a fifth place finish. The Warriors own three of the seven highest scores recorded at the NAIA National Championships including the top mark for four seasons.

Sibbald has been the head coach of Midland since the 2022-23 season and has coached six of the programs 21 total All-Americans. In the 2024 season, Midland had five First Team All-Americans. 

The eighth annual NAIA Cheer and Dance National Championships were hosted in Ypsilanti, Michigan March 29-30 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. Hosted by the Ann Arbor Sports Commission and Concordia University Ann Arbor, 12 dance team’s competed in the two round competition. Prelim scores accounted for 25% of the total while Finals scores made up the remaining 75%.
