2022 NAIA Women's Volleyball All-American and Special Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 2022 NAIA Women’s Volleyball All-Americans, Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Attacker of the Year, Setter of the Year and Defender of the Year have been announced.

Kalli Hegerle of Jamestown (N.D.) has been named the 2022 NAIA Player of the Year. The setter/opposite hitter recorded a total of 420 kills on the season for an average of three kills per set and a total of 832 assists for an average of 5.94. The senior also posted a season-high of 17 kills vs Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) during the regular season. Hegerle also helped her team to its first national title. 

Hope Leimbach of Midland (Neb.) has been named the 2022 NAIA Setter of the Year. Leimbach recorded a total of 1,435 assists on the season, surpassing the previous year by 100 assists. The setter recorded a season average of 11.76 assists per set. Leimbach posted a season-high 66 assists against Concordia (Neb.) during the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament and helped her team to the NAIA Championship Semifinals for the fourth time. 

Ellie Holen of Jamestown (N.D.) has been named the 2022 NAIA Defender of the Year. Holen recorded 862 digs on the season recording almost 200 more digs than the prior season. The libero also averaged 6.39 digs per set and posted only 32 reception errors on 653 serve receive attempts. The junior not only helped her team to its first title but posted a season-high 44 digs in the championship match 

Rylee Troutman of Corban (Ore.) has been named the 2022 NAIA Attacker of the Year. Troutman recorded 564 kills on the season for an average of 4.24 kills per set. The sophomore posted a season attack percentage of .254. The outside hitter recorded a season-high of 66 kills against Eastern Oregon during the regular season and matched that season-high in the championship match.  Troutman helped her team to the championship match for the first time in school history.

Jon Hegerle has been named the 2022 NAIA Coach of the Year. Hegerle led the Jimmies to a 37-2 overall record and first championship title in his 14th season. The team advanced to the championship match for the first time in school history this season and won. Hegerle ended the 2022 season with an overall coaching record of 372-116.

All of the selections are made by the All-America Committee which comprised a first, second, third and honorable mention teams.

Attacker of the Year: Rylee Troutman, Corban (Ore.)
