Day Two of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. [RESULTS]—The second day of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship opened with the finals of the 3,000m race walk and ended with five national champions at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
- Weight Throw
- Madison Sutton of Doane (Neb.) won her first title in the weight throw and set a new PR in the process.
- Abi Wohlgemuth followed just .46m behind the leader with a mark of 18.94m.
- Long Jump
- Caitlyn O’Brien of Ave Maria (Fla.) won her first and the school’s first individual title with a mark of 5.93m. Today’s mark was also a PR for O’Brien.
- Abia Kante of Cumberlands (Ky.) followed just .02m behind the leader with a mark of 5.91m for a new PR.
- Women’s High Jump
- Emma Valentine of Siena Heights (Mich.) repeated as the champion in the high jump with a mark of 1.80m. Valentine set a new PR and was one jump away from breaking the NAIA Championship Record.
- Delany Miller of Evangel (Mo.) set a new PR with a mark of 1.77 as the runner-up.
- 3,000m Race Walk
- Izabelle Trefts of Evergreen State (Wash.) and Alexa Governor of Cumberlands (Ky.) surpassed the previous facility record.
- Trefts won her second title in the 3,000m racewalk with a time of 13:53.46 for a new PR.
- Governor was the runner-up with a time of 14:20.98.
- 4x800 Relay
- The top three teams surpassed the previous facility record: The Master’s (Calif.), Marian (Ind.) and Dordt (Iowa).
- The Master’s (Calif.) led the pack with a time of 8:56.15. Their time was 5.29 short of the NAIA record. This is the first 4x8 title for the Mustangs.
- Marian (Ind.) followed with a time of 8:59.66.
Competition at the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship continues on Saturday, March 1 and will start with the championship ceremonies at 11 a.m. ET.
