NAIA Women’s Tennis All-Americans Released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the 2021 NAIA Women’s Tennis All-America teams. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes comprise both the first and second teams.

National champion Georgia Gwinnett led all schools with five first-team selections and six overall with one honorable mention selection named. Maria Genovese, Tereza Koplova, Selina Pichler, Iryna Lysykh and Ale Ferrer represented the Grizzlies on the first team while Marta Maestro was named a second-team selection. Lysykh was named the Marvin P. Richmond Outstanding Player at the national championship over the weekend.

Two student-athletes represented national championship runner-up Keiser (Fla.) on the first team. Camilla Abbate and Alisha Hussain were both honored with first-team honors for the Seahawks.

Montreat (N.C.) and Xavier (La.) were also well represented on the top team with two selections apiece. All totaled, Georgia Gwinnett leads all schools with six selections to the two teams combined. Keiser and Xavier are second with four. Union (Ky.), SCAD Savannah (Ga.) and Montreat (N.C.) all have two selections on the two teams.
