2019 NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll – Poll No. 4 (October 2, 2019)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Keiser (Fla.) stayed in the top spot for the second consecutive week in the latest edition of the Top 25. The Seahawks have won six in a row and have dropped just one game in 2019 as they continued to show a high-powered offense and a shut-down defense.
Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 1999)
- In its two wins on the week, Keiser shut-out both opponents. The Seahawks outscored its opponents 9-0 over the course of two games.
- Keiser has not surrendered a goal since September 14 in a 6-1 win over Life (Ga.).
- William Carey stayed at No. 2 for the second consecutive week as well. The Crusaders garnered six first place votes with just one loss on their record.
- After starting with a preseason ranking of No. 16, Northwestern Ohio has made a steady climb. The Racers have improved their ranking in each ratings period and landed this week at their highest point at No. 3.
- The lone loss that Northwestern Ohio has suffered was a 1-0 defeat at No. 1 Keiser. Jeweleen Reuille ranks No. 4 in the nation in game-winning goals with four.
- Lindsey Wilson returned to the top five after an idle week. The Blue Raiders are 4-2-1 on the year and will face Georgetown (Ky.) on Wednesday evening.
- Central Methodist (Mo.) made the most positive movement this week with an 11-point jump to No. 9, thanks in large part to a 2-1 victory over then No. 3 Benedictine (Kan.) on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
- Spring Arbor continues to hold the longest active Top 25 Poll streak, moving to 101 consecutive appearances in the poll. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) holds the national record since 1999 with 203 consecutive appearances, which was stopped on Oct. 24, 2017. Keiser (Fla.) is right behind Spring Arbor, extending its streak to 99 weeks.
- Lindsey Wilson own the most No. 1 rankings since 1999 with 58, followed by former member Azusa Pacific (Calif.) with 32. Spring Arbor is in third with 23 followed closely by Westmont (Calif.) and former member Concordia (Ore.) with 19 apiece.
Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes.”
