Concordia (Mich.) Rallies to Beat Mount Mercy (Iowa) in 2025 NAIA Women’s Bowling Semifinal Round
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Concordia University (Mich.) earned a trip to the 2025 NAIA Women’s Bowling National Championship match, by a pin, knocking off Mount Mercy University (Iowa) in Saturday morning’s semifinal round at 5 Star Lanes, 4-2.
The Cardinals had to rally, falling behind 2-1 early on, as the Mustangs claimed three of the first four games. Concordia was able to secure the match by winning the fourth, fifth, and sixth, including a 187-186 triumph in the final game to earn a trip to the championship match.
The teams traded the opening four games, as Mount Mercy claimed the first, 213-162 before Concordia equaled the match in the second, 197-180. The third swung the lead back to the Mustangs, 189-159, and Concordia tied in the fourth by just five pins, 184-179.
Concordia piled up its highest pin count through the first five games in the fifth, winning 202-184 to grab its first lead of the match, and the Cardinals closed the match out by a pin, earning a trip to the title match Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals will meet Spring Arbor (Mich.) in an all-Michigan final for the 2025 NAIA Women’s Bowling National Championship at 11 a.m. ET. The match will air live on UEN and the NAIA Network, with links at www.naia.org/watch.
