2022 NAIA Women's Championship Day Recap

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. –  [BRACKET | SCHEDULE ] The top-seeded SCAD Savannah (Ga.) Bees finished their incredible run throughout the elimination bracket as they won four matches on championship Saturday, including a pair of wins over winner’s bracket victor Midland (Neb.) to capture the 2022 NAIA Women’s Bowling Championship.

 

Highlights

  • No. 1 SCAD Savannah kept the momentum from Saturday rolling as it bested No. 4 Kansas Wesleyan 3-1 in the round six elimination game due in part to a 247 game one score.
  • The Bees were a welled oiled machine in their round seven match against cinderella No. 12 William Penn (Iowa), sweeping the Statesmen with scores of 236, 257 and 251.
  • That victory propelled the Bees to a showdown with No. 6 Midland, in the National Championship match.
  • The teams traded the first two matches before SCAD Savannah came up with a huge 245-game three to take a two set to one lead.
  • The Warriors edged out a 182-178 set four win to force a deciding set five that once again came down to the wire before the Bees took it 206-199 to send the tournament to a winner take all game 23.
  • The teams once again traded the first two matches of the winner take all best-of-five before SCAD Savannah posted a 225-193 victory in game three to pull within one baker game win of clinching the championship.
  • The Bees would clinch the national championship in the next set as they begin the fourth set with an impressive nine straight strikes to win the title with a 279.
