2019 NAIA Softball Players of the Week - No. 6

KANSAS CITY, MO. – Sabrina Gilliam of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA National Softball Player of the Week and Emily Cerny of Science & Arts of Oklahoma has been named the NAIA National Softball Pitcher of the Week, the National office announced Tuesday.

Softball Player of the Week 
Sabrina Gilliam, Martin Methodist
5-11, JR, IF, Columbia, Tenn.  

  • Gilliam helped her team to a 5-1 week last week with a current seven-game hit streak.
  • Weekly Stats
    • Batted 0.714. Scoring 13 runs with two home runs, seven doubles and one triple
    • Had slugging percentage of 1.429
    • Seats had 15 hits on 21 at-bats and 14 RBI

Softball Pitcher of the Week 
Emily Cerny, Science & Arts of Oklahoma
5-3, SO, P, Newcastle, Okla.

  • Cerny helped her team to an 8-0 week  
  • Weekly Stats
    • Captured her 13th shutout of the season in last week’s final contest against No. 2 Oklahoma City.
    • Stuck out 35 batters improving her perfect record on the mound to 21-0
    • She has struck out 220 batters in 130.2 innings pitched this season.
