GULF SHORES, Ala. - California Baptist (66-4) defeated Oregon Tech (41-13) 7-0 at the 2011 NAIA Softball National Championship to force a final contest at 3 pm to decide the National Champion.

The 31st Annual Event is being held at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

Oregon Tech came into the game sporting a 0.35 team ERA in tournament play, but the Lancer bats came out swinging and finished with seven runs on ten hits to force a final game after advancing out of the loser's bracket.

Sloan McHann finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, Lindsay Henry went 2-for-4 with one RBI, Mara Rodriguez finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Nicole Shoemaker added a pair of hits for Cal Baptist.

Shauna Collins went 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot for Oregon Tech, but the rest of the lineup only managed one hit against a pair of Cal Baptist pitchers.

Emma Holden (35-2) picked up the victory for the Lancers after twirling six innings of three-hit shutout ball. She struck out one and walked one while throwing only 85 pitches.

Cal Baptist became the first team in the tournament to get to Jackie Imhof, knocking the senior out after she gave up three earned runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings of action. She fanned four and walked one.

McHann put the Lancers on the board first with a RBI-double in the top of the first inning thanks to a leadoff error. Things stayed that way until Cal Baptist totaled six runs on eight hits over the final four innings.

They plated a pair of runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings, with Henry doubling home one in the fifth and McHann providing a two-out RBI-single in the sixth.
