Belhavens' Ansley Earns Puerto Rican National Team Tryout

July 6, 2009

JACKSON, Miss. - Current Belhaven All-American 3rd baseman Tiffany Ansley has been invited to tryout out for the Puerto Rican National Team for the second consecutive year. Ansley will be departing from Miami, Fla., for Puerto Rico this week with hopes of earning a spot on the team.

"I am very proud of what Tiffany accomplished this season and feel she has a good shot at making the Puerto Rican National, while representing the Belhaven softball program," said head coach Rick Fremin.

Ansley, a junior from Miami, Fla., was second on the team in batting average at .442, had 15 doubles and drove in 29 runs. Her .442 batting average was good for second in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference behind teammate Mallory Meadows at .485. Ansley had a total of 76 hits, which was second most in the GCAC and her 15 doubles placed her third in that category in the conference.

Belhaven College is a member of the NAIA, Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports.
