NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University softball player Chelsea Bailey has continued her assault on the record books in 2009, adding the TNU record for most hits in a career and triples in a season and career. Bailey now owns nine Trojan career or season records. She also set an NAIA record this season with 30 consecutive games with a hit.

The senior all-American notched 52 hits on the year, running her four-year total to 294 hits. The previous Trevecca record for hits was set by Ashley McCool. McCool played for the Trojans from 2004-2007 and amassed 263 career hits.

Bailey also set the career and single season marks for triples. She legged out eight triples this season to break the previous Trevecca record of six that was set by Kayla Arnold Price in 1995.

The eight triples upped her career total to 18, also a TNU record. The previous career mark was held by Shonnie Rhodes Speicher, who laced 13 three-baggers from 1992-1995.

Bailey had previously set the Trevecca season records for steals, hits, runs scored and career records for stolen bases, consecutive games with a hit, and runs scored.
