California Baptist Finishes No. 1 in NAIA Softball Rating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - California Baptist remained No. 1 in the final National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) softball ratings.  The Lancers earned all 13 first place votes and compiled 325 total points to stay in the top spot for the sixth straight week.

 

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) stayed at No. 2 with 311 total points for the sixth straight week and Oklahoma City remained at No. 3 with 298 total points for the third consecutive rating.  No. 4 Mobile (Ala.) and No. 5 Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) stayed in the same spots with 285 and 272 total points respectively for the second straight week.

 

The 2008 NAIA Region Tournaments are underway and will wrap up on Saturday, May 10th.

 

The 28th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship Tournament will be held on May 16-21 at Wilson Morgan Softball Complex in Decatur, Ala.  The 20-team field will be announced on Sunday, May 11th.
