California Baptist moves back to No. 1 in NAIA Softball Rating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - California Baptist collected 12 of the possible 13 first place votes and 324 total points to move back to No. 1 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) softball ratings.  The Lancers were edged by Lubbock Christian (Texas) by three points for the top spot last week. 

 

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) also moved up a spot to No. 2 with 303 total points after dropping to No. 3 last week.  Lubbock Christian dropped two spots to No. 3 with 298 total points.  Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) climbed two spots into the top-five at No. 4 with 281 total points while Rogers State (Okla.) jumped up five spots to No. 5 with 261 total points and one first place vote.

 

Three teams made their debut in the top-25 this week.  No. 21 Azusa Pacific (Calif.), No. 23 Oregon Tech and No. 24 Northwestern Oklahoma all appeared in the poll for the first time this year.

 

The fourth regular season poll will be released on Wednesday, April 9.
