St. Gregory's Sharon Bell moves into second place with stikeouts

Decatur, Ala. - From the 2007 NAIA National Softball Championship at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Alabama, Sophomore Sharon Bell moves into second place in the record books for tournament strikeouts in a game.  The Perth, Australia, native bypassed the former record of 65 held by Leticia Morales of St. Mary's (Texas).  The current record for Most Strikeouts is held by Ashley Lanz (total 72) from Simon Fraser set in 2005.  Bell has accumulated 67 strikeouts in the tournament including 10 in the 10-3 loss to Simon Fraser University (B.C.) which eliminated the Lady Cavaliers from the tournament. Bell pitched 52 innings in the tournament in seven games compiling a 2.15 earned run average.
