Tiffin Advances to Bracket Play

Tiffin University edges Bellevue University 3-2 at the 2007 NAIA Softball National Championship

                                                                                             

DECATUR, Ala. -  Tiffin University scored twice in the first inning en route to a 3-2 victory over Bellevue University Saturday (May 19) evening at the 2007 NAIA Softball National Championship being held at Wilson Morgan Park.

 

The No. 20-ranked Dragons end their season at 37-11 while the No. 11 Bruins finished at 34-8.

 

Tiffin took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by Tracy Lehman and Lauren Williams. Bellevue cut the lead in half as Lori Huelskamp drove in a run with her double to left. Tiffin got the run back in the fifth on a Lehman sacrifice fly.

 

Bellevue mounted a rally in the seventh, but came up short. Kayla Edick had an RBI single in the inning for the Bruins.
