OLATHE, Kan. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2007 qualifying field for the 27th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship tournament, slated for May 18-23 at Decatur, Ala.'s Wilson Morgan Softball Complex.

 

The field, comprised of 13 automatic qualifiers through region tournament titles and seven additional at-large participants, includes the nation's No. 1 ranked team in California Baptist and the 2006 NAIA National Champion, Mobile (Ala.).

 

In all, 18 of the 20 qualifying schools are rated in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, including 14 teams ranked in the Top 25.

 

Seeding for the championship will take place Sunday morning, with pool-play schedules to follow. Fans can view the entire tournament and its championship bracket at www.naia.org, and live statistics will be provided from the tournament using Daktronics webcasts.
