Aquinas College (Mich.) first baseman McCall Kleinfelt traveled to the Czech Republic to represent Team USA in the Prague Softball Tournament this past month. Kleinfelt had a productive trip going 7-for-11 from the plate with four RBI's and three stolen bases. Her efforts helped lead Team USA to a 4-1 record beating teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, and another USA team.
"It was such a great opportunity travel internationally and represent Team USA," Kleinfelt said. "It was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I would do it again in a hearbeat."
Playing alongside Kleinfelt were players from Ashland University (Ohio), Brigham Young University, Centenary College (La.), Cornerstone University (Mich.), IUPUI, Oakland University (Ind.), and Saginaw Valley University (Mich.). The team was coached by Jodi Hermanak from Southern Utah University and Jackelyn Knight from Hillsdale College (Mich.).
Kleinfelt is preparing for her senior year at Aquinas and will be a key component for the softball team as she leads a young squad into the upcoming season.
