KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bruno Villazon of Tennessee Southern has been named the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Villazon was selected based on their performances from August 26 -September 1 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Runners of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and X.

NAIA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week 

Bruno Villazon, Tennessee Southern - FR

• Ran in the JSU Foothills Classic.
• Finished first of 185 runners.
• His time of 15:02.59 shattered a Tennessee Southern record for fasted 5k with an average of 4:51 per mile.
