2020 NAIA Men's Wrestling Official Brackets Released

WICHITA, Kan – (Official Brackets – PDF | Watch Live) Official brackets for the 2020 NAIA Wrestling National Championships have been released. Session I action inside the Hartman Arena starts at 10 a.m. CST. The 63rd event consists of four sessions, concluding Saturday with the championship finals at 7 p.m.

Official brackets were verified and approved by the NAIA-Wrestling Coaches Association Bracketing Committee Thursday afternoon.

Championship Notes

  • Fifty-three schools are represented at this year’s national championships.
  • Eight-time defending National Champion, Grand View (Iowa), is one of two teams with a full 12-man roster. Reinhardt (Ga.) is the other team with 12 wrestlers while Menlo (Calif.) has 11 competitors in this year’s field.
  • The Mid-South Conference leads all qualifiers with 61 this year followed by the Cascade Collegiate Conference with 51.
  • Lucas Lovvorn (174) of Baker (Kan.) and Anthony Orozco (184) of Menlo, Evan Hansen (197) of Grand View, and Brandon Reed (285) of Lindsey Wilson (285) return to defend their individual titles.
  • There have been 19 programs to previously claim the team title. Grand View joined former NAIA members Adams State (Colo.) and Central State (Okla.) with their record eighth title last season. Of the current NAIA schools, Montana-State Northern is next with six championships.
  • Former NAIA member, Simon Fraser (B.C.) boasts the most individual champions with 39. Southern Oregon is a close second with 36, while Montana State-Northern is third with 32.
  • Grand View’s team score of 234.5 points in 2017 is the most by any team champion.
