Week 6 (April 28, 2021)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Kenny Benton, Tennessee Wesleyan

  Benton competed at the AAC Championships. He was named Track MVP at the meet and recorded a first-place finish in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m relay.

 

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Hunter Drops, Oregon Tech

  Drops competed at the CCC Multi Championships where he placed first in the javelin throw with a mark of 70.93m. He now leads the NAIA by 25 ft. He is also No. 20 on the US list for the Olympic trials.

 


Week 5 (April 21, 2021)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Matthew Van Eps, Dordt (Iowa)

  Van Eps competed at the Souix City Relays where he placed first in the 800m with a time of 1:50.3. This time resulted in a new personal best. He also anchored the 4x400m Relay which recorded a time of 3:16.08 and first-place finish.

  Heitkamp competed at the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic. He placed first in the high jump with a mark of 2.15m. He also recorded a new PR in the javelin throw with a mark of 58.45m.

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Dylan Felger, Huntington (Ind.)

  Felger competed at the Warrior Opener where he placed first in the 400m hurdles. He hit an "A" mark and recorded a time of 52.79. Felger currently holds the fastest 400m hurdle time in the NAIA.

  Terry competed at the Grand View Invite where he recorded three first-place finishes. He placed first in shot put with a mark of 15.40m and first in discus with a mark of 46.34m. Terry also placed first in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.40m.

Miller competed at the IWU Polar Bear Invite. He placed first in the Steeplechase with a time of 9:13:68, securing the win by 40-seconds.

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Nathan Baker, Milligan (Tenn.) 

 

Nathan Baker ran the No. 1 time in the NAIA at 1500m (3:53.79) and ran the No. 2 time in the NAIA at 5000m (14:30.60). Both marks were personal bests by five and 20 seconds, respectively. Baker's 5k mark was also a Milligan University record.

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Leon Menten, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho)

 

Freshman Leon Menton started the year off with an almost rocket shot in the men’s Javelin. In the process of winning the event in the first outdoor meet of the year for the warriors, he set a new school record, beating the record that had been held by his current coach and former Warrior (Jacob Whittaker), but also launched him to #1 in the country in the event with a throw of 63.36 meters (207’ 10”).
