Day Two of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. [RESULTS]—The second day of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship opened with the heptathlon and ended with five national champions at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
- Weight Throw
- Christian Rios of Marian (Ind.) and Try Dickey of Doane (Neb.) both broke the facility record with their longest throw in the weight throw today.
- Rios won the title with a mark of 20.34, set a new PR and was 1.47m from breaking the NAIA Championship Record.
- 3,000m Race Walk
- The top eight finishers in the 3,00m race walk surpassed the previously held facility record.
- Owen Nolte of Benedictine (Kan.) set a new PR with a time of 12:20.95. This is the first individual title for Note and the Ravens.
- Pablo Sanz-Rillo of Friends (Kan.) set a new PR with a time of 12:22.54 as the runner-up.
- Long Jump
- Mikhail Browne of Arizona Christian set a new PR and earned his and the school’s first individual title with a mark of 7.51m.
- Kaleo Wellman of Bushnell (Ore.) set a new PR with a mark of 7.38m as the runner-up.
- 4x800 Relay
- Milligan (Tenn.) won the 4x8 relay with a time of 7:29.31 that broke the facility and NAIA Championship Record. This is the first time that a Buffs relay team has won the 4x8.
- Marian (Ind.) followed with a time of 7:35.57.
- Heptathlon
- Robert Atwater of Midland (Neb.) won his first NAIA National Title as a Heptathlete with a total of 5396 points. Atwater finished first in three different events: high jump, long jump and pole vault and set new records in the heptathlon in the high jump (2.12) and the long jump (7.28).
Competition at the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship continues on Saturday, March 1 and will start with the championship ceremonies at 11 a.m. ET.
