After Four Runner-Up Finishes, Keiser (Fla.) Takes the 2025 Red Banner Back to the Beach

MOBILE, Ala. - [Bracket | Schedule] The Keiser Seahawks (Fla.) win their first Red Banner in program history after finishing runner-up to the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies in their last four meetings in the championship match. The Seahawks have appeared in the national tournament for the 18th time and now hold a record of 27-17. Outside of Keiser’s four runner-up finishes to the Grizzlies, the Seahawks had two third-place finishes.

Yassir Kilani of Keiser was named the Ward-Ballinger Memorial Award recipient, and Head Coach Rober McAdoo is named the NAIA Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Georgia Gwinnett was honored as the National Runner-Up, which marks the first time in program history the Grizzlies took a runner-up finish.

GAME NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Seahawks defeated Georgia Gwinnett 4-2 after losing the doubles point, but won one singles, four singles, five singles, and six singles.
  • The clinching point came from Yassir Kilani in one singles after winning the first set 7-6 with the tie break at 7-5, losing the second set 6-4, and clinching the set and match with a third set 6-3 victory.
