2019 NAIA Football Players of the Week - Week Six

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Davonte Williams of Webber International (Fla.) has been named the NAIA National Football Offensive Player of the Week and Matt Swartz of Saint Francis (Ind.) has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week and Mike Iturbe of Saint Xavier (Ill.) has been named the NAIA National Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the national office announced Monday.


Special Teams Player of the Week

Mike Iturbe, Saint Xavier (Ill.)

So., K, Palos Heights, Ill.

  • Iturbe kicked a 57-yard field goal with 5:09 left in game
  • Gave No. 13 Saint Xavier the 31-28 lead
  • The 57-yard kick is all-time program record at SXU
  • Longest kick made in NAIA since 2013
  • Longest kick in college football this year

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Matt Swartz, Saint Francis (Ind.)

Sr., NT, Fort Wayne, Ind.

  • Blocked a No. 4 Concordia field goal attempt with 7.9 seconds to play
  • The block led to a scoop and scoring of the game-winning 65-yard touchdown
  • Swartz had 18 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 3 solo tackles

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Davonte Williams, Webber International (Fla.)

So., RB, Tampa, Fla.

  • Williams had two receiving touchdowns in final four minutes of play
  • Including the game-winning 52-yard touchdown with 18.5 seconds left
  • Career high 13 catches for a career-high 213 receiving yards
  • Williams had three touchdowns for a career high 253 combined yards
