The NAIA has named the Oklahoma City University women's track team as the 2011-12 NAIA Scholar-Team of the Year. The Lady Stars finished in the top spot with a 4.07 cumulative grade-point average during the 2011-12 academic year. There were 741 teams who received the award.

Joining Oklahoma City to round out the top five award winners are: Vanguard (Calif.) women's cross country (3.97); Lee University (Tenn.) women's golf (3.96); Oklahoma City women's cross country (3.91); and Shorter (Ga.) women's golf (3.83).

Concordia (Neb.) and Hastings (Neb.) had the most teams represented by a school, with 16 each. More than 15 percent of the schools receiving the award had a 3.5 or higher grade-point average.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.
