KANSAS CITY, Mo. – MaQuoia Bernabe of Cumberlands (Ky.) has been named the YES! Athletics NAIA Women’s Wrestler of the Week. Bernabe was selected based on her performances from January 8-14 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Wrestlers of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Wednesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

• Secured a perfect 4-0 day at the Tornado Open, competing against wrestlers from various associations and division levels.
• Picked up a big tech fall victory before back-to-back wins via fall
• Finished the day off with a 4-1 advantage in the championship match before it was called due to injury.
