KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Gabi Nordaker of Concordia (Neb.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Zavyr Metzger of Northwestern (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week and Abbigail Porter of Indiana Wesleyan has been named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week. The trio was selected based on their performances from October 2 - 8 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week 

Gabi Nordaker, Concordia (Neb.) - JR - Middle Blocker

• Totaled 28 kills in seven sets for an average of four kills per set. 
• Posted an attack percentage of .400.
• Helped her team to a 2-0 week against Great Plains Athletic Conference opponents in No. 14 Jamestown (N.D.) and RV Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.).

NAIA Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week

Zavyr Metzger, Northwestern (Iowa) - SO - Middle Blocker

• Totaled 15 blocks on the week (4 solo, 11 assisted).
• Averaged 2.50 blocks per set in six sets. 
• Tied her career-high of 11 blocks vs. Hastings (Neb.).
• Helped her team to a 2-0 week with wins over Doane (Neb.) and Hastings (Neb.). 

NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week 

Abbigail Porter, Indiana Wesleyan - SO - Setter

• Totaled 146 assists on the week. 
• Averaged 12.17 assists in 12 sets. 
• Posted 31 assists or above in each of the four matches she played in. 
• Helped her team to a 4-0 week with wins over Huntington (Ind.), No. 13 Columbia (Mo.), St. Francis (Ill.) and Campbellsville (Ky.).
