2023 NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Rating - No. 5 (October 25)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana Wesleyan and Northwestern (Iowa) are the new reigning No. 1s in the latest edition of the 2023 NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Rating. Indiana Wesleyan has no blemish on their record and has won the Crossroads League regular season title. At the same time, Northwestern has only lost to the defending national champions and Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) opponent, College of Saint Mary (Neb.). CSM has steadily moved up in the ranking from No. 18 in the preseason to now being No. 8. Seven teams this week remained at their same rank while no new teams moved into the Top 25.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated groups.
- The Coaches Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
