KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kira Rymer of Columbia International (S.C.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Zavyr Metzger of Northwestern (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week and Bree Burtwistle of Concordia (Neb.) has been named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week. The trio was selected based on their performances from August 28 - September 3 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week 

Kira Rymer Attaway, Columbia International (S.C.) - SR - Right Side Hitter

• Posted a total of 59 kills in 10 sets for an average of 5.9 kills per set. 
• Recorded an attack percentage of 0.552 on the week. 
• Season-high of 24 kills vs. Faulkner (Ala.).
• Helped her team to a 4-0 week with wins over Point (Ga.), William Carey (Miss.), Ave Maria (Fla.) and Faulkner (Ala.).

NAIA Women's Volleyball Defender of the Week

Zavyr Metzger, Northwestern (Iowa) - SO - Middle Blocker

• Posted 29 total blocks (21 block assists) on the week in 15 sets for an average of 1.93 blocks per set.
• Set new career-high with 10 assisted blocks vs. No. 6 Park (Mo.).
• Helped her team to a 5-0 week with wins over Briar Cliff (Iowa), Kansas Wesleyan, No. 6 Park (Mo.), RV Providence (Mont.) and RV The Master's (Calif.).

NAIA Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week 

Bree Burtwistle, Concordia (Neb.) - SR - Setter

• Recorded a total of 205 assists.
• Averaged 12.06 assists per set.
• Had a week-high of 46 assists twice in the last week. 
• Helped her team to a 5-0 week with wins over No. 21 Hastings (Neb.), RV Rocky Mountain (Mont.), Mayville State (N.D.), Kansas Wesleyan and No. 6 Park (Mo.).
