KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA National Office has announced that Serhiy Shevchenro of Cumberlands (Ky.) has been named the NAIA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Shevchenro was selected based on his performance(s) from August 28 - September 3 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Runners of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Wednesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

• Finished first in the Berea Centre XC Jamboree
• Won by over 33 seconds in his first collegiate race
• Helped UC to win the meet with his 18:03.52 time in the 6K race
