2023-24 NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Rating – No. 2 (October 5)

Men's Cross Country - Indiana Wesleyan University

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana Wesleyan remained in the top spot in the latest NAIA Men’s Cross Country Top 25. The Wildcats grabbed 16 first-place votes. The Master’s (Calif.) swapped spots with Milligan (Tenn.) to climb to No. 2 with three first-place votes of their own. Saint Mary (Kan.) remained at No. 4 while Eastern Oregon rose three spots to No. 5. Montana Tech jumped eight spots, representing the largest positive movement of the week, to No. 17 while Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), Northwest (Wash.) and Corban (Ore.) all joined the Top 25 this week.

Rating Methodology:

  • The Top 25 was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, and Unaffiliated Groupings.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
