KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Payton Mauldin of Dordt (Iowa) has been named NAIA Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Mayson DeRouse of Missouri Baptist has been selected as the NAIA Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from January 8 - 14 and were selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country.

Players of the week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Wednesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Payton Mauldin, Dordt (Iowa) - SR

• Grabbed a pair of second-place finishes in the SDSU Jim Emmerich Invite in a field heavy with Division I and II runners.
• With a time of 1:51.03 in the 800, it wasn't only an 'A' standard, but also the second fastest in the NAIA this season.
• Anchored his 400 relay team to a top time in the NAIA to date.

Mayson DeRouse, Missouri Baptist - GR

• Collected his fourth 'A' standard this past week while claiming the top mark in pole vault.
• With a height of 5.15m, he set a new personal record and claimed the top mark in the NAIA this season.
