NAIA Men’s Tennis All-Americans Released

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the 2023 NAIA Men’s Tennis All-America teams. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes comprise both the first and second teams.

National champion Georgia Gwinnett and national champion runner-up Tennessee Wesleyan led all schools with three first-team selections. Alex Gurmendi, Dhakshineswar Suresh and Santiago Villarruel were named to the team from the Grizzlies, while Oscar Gabriel Ortiz, Nicolas Cortes Campos and German DelCanto earned first team honors for the Bulldogs. Gurmendi was named the Ward-Ballinger Outstanding Player at the national championship over the weekend, the second time in as many years.

Both Keiser (Fla.) and Georgia Gwinnett had the most honorees across both All-America teams with four each. In addition to the aforementioned student-athletes on the first team, Aleksa Ciric was named to the second team. The Seahawks were represented by a pair of first-team selections in Shaheed Alam and Gaston Cantero. Martin Carrizo and Soufiane El Mesbahi took home second team All-America honors.
